Q. What about COVID-19, will it be safe to participate?
This is a community event and the safety and welfare of the community, the runners and the volunteers involved is of utmost important to us. We will continue to monitor government directives and advice, and will ensure that we have adequate measures in place to ensure the health and safety of all involved.
If it is not possible to create this environment in September, the event will be postponed.
Q. What happens if the event does get postponed?
Your entry will be automatically transferred to the new dates, you don’t need to do anything.
If you are no longer able to participate on these dates, you will simply need to contact us so that we can process a refund.

How do I register? You can register online. Enter your details inREGISTER NOW! You will need to tick the box to agree to the Manly Fun Run disclaimer as part of the registration process. If you are registering online and it is after the cut-off date for postage of your race bib and timing chip (August 18), you will need to collect them at The Steyne Hotel on the day of the event (see where do I pick up my race number and timing chip?
On the day registrations If you are entering on the day, go into The Steyne Hotel at the North Steyne/Corso entrance and proceed to the On-the- Day Registration area, fill in the entry form, pay the cashiers, and receive your race number and timing chip. Registrations will open at 6.30am and close at 7.30am for the 10km and 5km events and close at 8am for the 2km event.
When and where do I pick up my race number and timing chip?
Postage Option If you opted to have your race number and electronic timing chip sent to your address as part of the registration process, this will be mailed out to you approx. 10 days before the event.
Collection on the day For those who didn’t go for the postage option, or registered online after the postage cut-off date, race numbers and electronic timing chips will be available on the morning of the event from 6.30am from the booking office windows outside The Steyne Hotel. Or the Friday before in Manly, between 4pm-6:30pm. We'll let you know the location closer to the date.
Essential Information Please write your emergency contact details on the rear of your bib, as well as details of any medical conditions race organisers should be aware of in the event of an accident or injury.
What is the best way to get there? We would encourage anyone who is able to walk or catch public transport to do so as there will be no special parking areas for this event: and whilst there are several Council Parking sites in Manly they fill quickly. Where can I leave my things when I run? If you would like your baggage looked after, you can leave it at the secure baggage collection point inside The Steyne Hotel. Look for the signs directing you to the collection point.
Will I get lost? No you will not! There will be plenty of police and volunteer marshals around the routes and lots of bright blue and yellow signs and arrows to keep you on the straight and narrow.
Will I get thirsty? No you will not! For the 10km & 5km routes, there are water stations evenly spread out across the route. For the 2km route, there is a water station at the start and finish.
I am not feeling well? We will have first aiders in attendance at the event, they will be located near the stage at the start
I’ve lost my child, what should I do? Please head to the stage area to request an announcement and remain there until your child is brought to the area. If you come across a lost child, please notify a Manly Fun Run volunteer or take them to the stage area to find their parents.
Will there be any prizes? There will be no ‘winners’ prizes as this is a charity fun run and not a race. Everyone nevertheless will have a chance to achieve their personal best, with their times being posted on our website after the event. But here’s the good news. All participants will receive a fantastic Manly Fun Run medallion that can be proudly displayed on their own or on their (grand)mothers mantelpiece! There will be prizes given for the best fancy dress costumes.
Is there anything else to do apart from participating in the walk/run? If you or any members of your party would rather not run or walk there will be plenty of other things to enjoy before, during and after the event. Why not get your photo taken at our Selfie Stand. Listen to some great music. Watch our cheer squad and dancers. Line up the kids at the children’s face painting stand. Enjoy a complimentary massage. Grab a coffee and a sausage sizzle while soaking up some of the best beach scenes Sydney has to offer. In a word, the Manly Scenic Fun Run and Walk will give you a great morning out keeping the kids entertained without breaking the bank!
Will there be people taking pictures and where can I see photos taken during the event? We will have a couple of photographers wandering around during the event. We will also have a ‘selfie stand’ in the Entertainment Area, overlooking Manly Beach. These images will be uploaded onto the website as well as Facebook and Instagram after the event. We encourage you to upload your photos to social media using the hashtag #manlyfunrun2021
What happens to the money raised at the event? The Manly Fun Run is Manly Rotary Club’s main annual fund-raising event. We identify specific projects, raise funds for them through the fun run, and complete the work we have committed to, over the following twelve months.
